My third try in designing quilting blocks. This time my inspiration was a marquetry star.

Natural creamy, wooden and earthy colors go together so well. Using cotton prints and batiques from Not Just Quiltz.

This was the result of the first day of working on this project. I was runing out of the dark brown Batique, and my qulting store is at a show in Oregon, so I had to wait untill the following Tuesday.

Assembling this block was realy not easy. There were quite a lot of seam allowances in the way, but with some good concentration and patience anything can be achieved!

The size of my block is 12″x12″.

The block is stiched together using FPP – Foundation Paper Piecing.

I am still working on this pattern and hope to publish it soon. However, I’d probably probably make it as a 20″x20″ block instead of 12″x12″.
What size blocks do you prefer for your quilts?
